Camping

With lakeside, riverside, organized resort campgrounds and remote wilderness sites, camping  opportunities abound along our area’s multiple hiking and waterway trail systems. Whether you have a recreational vehicle, tent or looking to stay in a cabin tent, bunk camp or lean to, the Upper Kennebec Valley can provide for your outdoor adventure. If family camping and stepping out into a remote wilderness is your desire, there is simply no way to find more camping opportunities than to pack up your gear and head up Route 201 north on the Old Canada Road Scenic Byway .

Camping is also the most affordable lodging option with many supporting amenities.  Enjoy Maine Hiking, Fishing, Rafting, Paddle Sports, Bird or Moose Watching or any of the other great summer activities available in our pristine area.

Check with a local Chamber of Commerce, or one of many area outfitters for camping information.
